CROSS CAREER
- Proud to be in his 31st year with the ARC having begun his career in 1979 as an emergency services coordinator supporting military families and disaster victims at the Annapolis Branch of the Baltimore Regional Chapter.
- Joined national headquarters' team as Chief of Disaster Damage Assessment for the eastern US in 1983 and, in 1985, promoted to Assistant Director for Disaster Oprations; responsible for supporting all major disasters in the Eastern US.
- From 1987 through 1995, served as Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Miami Chapter and led the local response to Hurricane Andrew (1992), one of the worst disasters in U.S. history.
- From 1995 to the present, CEO of the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus covering Fayette, Franklin, Madison, and Pickaway counties. Also serves as Regional CEO for fifteen Central-Southeast Ohio chapters.
- Since 1979, served in field leadership roles on more than 20 major disaster operations in 12 states. In September 2004, served as Deputy Director of the Hurricane Frances relief operation in Florida and, in September 2005, was Director of Hurricane Katrina relief for Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
- Numerous ARC activities include past service on the President’s Advisory Council and a term as Chair of the Association of Metro Managers, currently serving as Special Advisor to ARC President/CEO Gail McGovern.

- A native of Rutland, VT and a graduate of the University of Vermont.
- Married to Glenda Overbeck; son Brennan is a senior in the Worthington Schools.
- Active with the Columbus Rotary Club, the United Way of Central Ohio, and several other central Ohio organizations.
