Is your company in compliance with the OSHA Standards for first aid training and emergency preparedness? Backed by over 90 years of lifesaving experience, the American Red Cross offers you the most current, comprehensive and high-quality first aid and CPR/AED training available. In fact, the American Red Cross recently updated its health and safety programs with the latest science for first aid, CPR and emergency cardiovascular care. Our new first aid/CPR/AED program brings you a wealth of educational innovations to enhance the learning experience of your employees. The new program includes features such as:
  • An innovative and engaging "practice-while-you-watch" instructional method that allows learners to perform skills along with a video while a classroom instructor provides more individual guidance. This unique method more fully engages students and provides more time for hands-on skills practice.
  • A new training that is customized with the specific types of emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a workplace or school/community environment, enhancing the relevancy of training for your staff.
  • New participant materials to support the learning process and provide an excellent refresher and reference after training.
  • New optional one-hour epinephrine auto-injector training module and 45-minute asthma inhaler training lesson -- ideal for staff who may be required to assist someone during a severe allergic reaction or asthma attack -- are now available and can be added to your training program.
  • The skills training required to meet OSHA guidelines for first aid programs.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the American Red Cross share a common goal -- keeping American workers safe and healthy. In an Alliance signed between the two organizations to respond to disasters, life-threatening injuries and emergencies. Through this Alliance, the organizations provide information, guidance and access to training resources on safety and health topics including emergency preparedness, disease prevention and First Aid in the workplace.

The purpose of the workplace program is to teach life-saving skills to individuals in the workplace so they can assist in an emergency until more advanced medical care arrives. This program provides a paid instructor, all materials, textbooks and equipment for the course. Courses are offered 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Courses are set up by sales representatives at the client's request.
We offer four service delivery options:
Option 1: A Red Cross instructor can come to your facility and train your employees at a time that works for you -- daytime, evenings or weekends, for a minimum of eight participants per instructor.

Option 2: For those businesses that have only a few employees to train, we offer our monthly community classes at the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus.

Option 3: Become an authorized provider and have some of your staff members trained as Red Cross instructors to provide First Aid, CPR and AED training onsite.

Option 4: Enroll employees in our blended learning training. The first part of the training is accessed online at the employee's convenience, followed by an instructor-led skills practice and assessment.
