Chair, Michelle Duffey
Michelle has been a member of Friends of the ARC since 2006 when she attended comedy night at The Funny Bone. She currently works in marketing at Cardinal Health, managing the packaging creation for a line of over 6,000 private label products. Her previous experience includes managing the Grand Opening Program for new agencies at Nationwide Insurance and recruiting for MRI (Management Recruiters International) in Scottscale, AZ.
Michelle earned both a Bachelor's in Communication and her MBA in Marketing from The University of Toledo. She also volunteers for Odyssey Healthcare, a hospice organization, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Helping others is a big part of Michelle's life and she looks forward to helping Friends raise money to benefit the American Red Cross.

Scott Gerding
Scott Gerding wears a lot of hats but the one that fits him best is humanitarian. At just 24 years old, he dedicates his days and nights to helping others through his work with the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus. Not only a member of Friends of the American Red Cross, Scott serves as the Aquatics Coordinator and Chapter Instructor Trainer for ARC and teaches anywhere from 10 to 15 classes each month. He’s been with the Red Cross for five years and prior to that, worked with the Maumee Valley Girl Scouts where he still volunteers twice a year.
During the few hours each week that he doesn’t appear to be working, Scott loves spending time with his close friends and his two-year-old Jindo dog Brutus. And when he gets the chance to travel, his favorite spot is just about anywhere in Mexico. |
Jeff Bing
Jeff moved to Columbus for his work with Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories, where he serves as an analyst in the Contract Marketing department. An active Friends member since June 2006, Jeff encourages anyone he knows to learn more about the organization. He’s sure they would find that Friends is flexible and doesn’t demand an overwhelming commitment.
Aside from work and volunteering, his time is well spent at the Fisher College of Business, where he recently started studying for an MBA degree. When he’s not at work, he spends time with his sister who is a junior at The Ohio State University and several cousins and friends in the area.
Kate Hagemann
Kate Hagemann is a Lewis Center resident and Assistant Vice President and Home Lending Sales Support Manager with The Huntington National Bank. In addition to serving with Friends, Kate is on the board of the Unverferth House, which is an organization that helps house families of OSU heart transplant patients, and serves on the Otterbein MBA Advisory Council, where she earned her MBA in 2003. At Huntington, Kate's involved in the Adopt-a-Family, United Way and Operation Feed.
She and her husband Josh are raising his son and their three adopted dogs that were rescued. Kate and Josh have a collection of goofy movies – their all-time favorite is “Tommy Boy.” She plays softball in the summer, soccer in the winter, and maintains a dedicated girl’s night out! And she loves to motivate and inspire people to do more. |
