Develop and Teach Community Disaster Education Program
Position Title: Community Disaster Education Member
Project Summary: The AmeriCorps Member will assist to expand human resources and community outreach to assure that the community receives a higher level of community education and preparedness.
The primary responsibility of the member will be to help recruit and educate people in targeted population groups to build capacity for a greater community education and preparedness level. This individual will also participate in all other aspects to enable us to meet the needs of our community’s diverse population including devising and implementing plans to recruit youth volunteers, people with disabilities and individuals and residents who are bilingual.

Position Title: AmeriCorps Health & Services Member
Project Summary: The AmeriCorps Member assists Health & Safety Services to expand human resources and community outreach to assure that the community receives a higher level of community education and preparedness.
The primary responsibility of the member is to promote and instruct PASS (Health and Safety) and Emergency Preparedness Education programs in the county; to build capacity for a greater community education and preparedness level. This position is expected to participate in many aspects of volunteer management including recruiting, training and volunteer recognition for all volunteers, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaches American Red Cross courses to adults and youth according to established American Red Cross guidelines
- Assist with implementing strategic plan for the Health & Safety Services department
- Assist with special events providing Health & Safety information to the public

Work with Disaster Response
Position Title: Emergency Services Member
Project Summary: The AmeriCorps member will assist the Emergency Services department of the American Red Cross to assure that the community receives a higher quality of service.
The primary responsibility of the member will be to support the preparedness and response training and education with in the community. This individual will also participate in all other aspects of the Emergency Services Department activities to enable us to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
