Work alongside staff and volunteers as integrated members of Red Cross programs, learning and using professional business skills in diverse work environments. Training and materials are provided for you to help your community learn to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Serve with Community Disaster Education
The AmeriCorps member will assist the Disaster Services Coordinator of the American Red Cross of Fairfield County in conducting a Community Disaster Education program. The member will participate in meeting additional goals as designated by the Corporation for National and Community Service related to volunteer recruitment and disaster response. This is a 6-month service opportunity.

Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) Member
Member will assist the Emergency Services and Volunteer Resources departments by assuring that community disaster needs are met by qualified, trained staff and volunteers. Member will recruit for critical needs and opportunities within Emergency Services and Community Transportation.

Volunteer Recruitment – Blood Services
AmeriCorps Member will assist the Office of Volunteer and Community Resources of the American Red Cross Blood Services. This member will recruit volunteers from the general public including youth volunteers and diverse volunteers, enabling us to meet the needs of the community in the
local county areas.
The member will engage in volunteer management and program and event planning including interviewing, screening, training, data management, record keeping, and volunteer recognition.
