Now accepting applications for the next AmeriCorps service year which begins September, 2009. Positions available in the following counties:
Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, Ross, Stark and Summit Counties
Working with the American Red Cross is a rewarding commitment that makes a difference in people’s lives every day. AmeriCorps Members are an important part of the community outreach that is the core of the Red Cross mission. Work alongside staff and volunteers as integrated members of Red Cross programs, learning and using professional business skills in diverse work environments. Training and materials are provided for you to help your community learn to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a US citizen or legal resident
- Have a High School diploma
- Have a valid Driver’s License
- Be available to complete a 10 to 12 month assignment
- Develop and teach Community Disaster Education
- Teach First Aid and CPR
- Work with disaster response
- Recruit and train volunteers
- Work with blood donor recruitment

- A Stipend up to $11,400 for full-time service and $6,035 for part-time assignments.
- Obtain an Education Award of $4,725 FT and $2,362.50 for PT assignment.
- Receive health care coverage through an AmeriCorps provider.
- May qualify for child care assistance.
- Deferment of student loans: Corporation for National and Community Service will pay any interest accrued on qualified student loans.
