Contributions to the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Services Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.

Tribute Gifts/Memorial
Tribute gifts are a wonderful way to honor or memorialize important people in your life, or to celebrate important events such as birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations.
Please send your gift to the address at the left. Be sure to include the name of the person you are memorializing or honoring and the name and address of the person who should be notified of your generous gift. We will send a nice letter stating that you made a gift to the Red Cross in memory or honor of this special person. We do not include the gift amount.

In-Kind Gifts (Donated Goods)
The Red Cross is unable to accept small, individual donations or collections of items such as clothing, food, furniture, toys, hygiene items or cleaning supplies. Unsolicited, spontaneous donations of goods and services, though well intentioned, have hidden costs and pose a number of complications for relief efforts. The cost to sort, package and distribute these types of donations to disaster victims is almost always greater than the cost of purchasing the items locally. Additionally, it is logistically impossible to distribute a wide variety of individual items in a meaningful way. Because of these cost and logistical concerns, we recommend that you support your community by donating these items to an organization that is equipped to put them to the best possible local use.
The Red Cross will sometimes accept bulk donations of products that are immediately needed on an ongoing disaster relief operation. "Bulk donations" refers to large donations of a single product that is typically new, shrink-wrapped, palletized and transported by the donor. Because the quantities required on relief operations are significant, these donations are typically provided by companies that manufacture or distribute the product needed, and have the resources to ship it directly to the disaster site. If your company has a large bulk donation that you think would be appropriate for Red Cross relief efforts, please contact the Financial Development office at (614) 253-2740 ext. 2427.

By shopping at Kroger
The Kroger Company's Community Rewards Program provides financial support to non-profit organizations based on money spent by program members. Kroger will donate a percentage of all member purchases to The American Red Cross of Greater Columbus. To enroll in the Community Awards Program, print this PDF of our bar code and take it to Kroger the next time you go shopping. Give our bar code to the cashier along with your Kroger Plus Shopping Card and you will designate the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus to receive Community Rewards from Kroger.
