The American Red Cross of Greater Columbus produces a number of fund raising events on an annual basis. Funds generated by these projects provide unrestricted support to our Chapter, helping us fulfill our mission to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies in our community.
All events described below offer a variety of sponsorship levels and ticket options, which include event participation opportunities as well as recognition and visibility for the partnership. Click on the links below for more information.

Humanitarian of the Year Award
Each year, the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus honors people in our community who have personified the principles for which the American Red Cross stands: voluntary service, impartiality, unity, universality and above all, humanity. The award recipient(s) are honored at a luncheon during crisply-produced luncheon program that marries inspiration, information and entertainment. This signature event hosts, on average, more than 500 guests for an opportunity to learn more about the work of our Red Cross and pay tribute to deserving individuals who exemplify humanitarianism in our community. Annual Golf Classic
For more than twenty years, the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus has hosted one of the most upscale and popular golf events in the central Ohio area. Since 1992, the event has been held at the prestigious Ohio State University Golf Club, where this important fundraiser fills both the Scarlet and Gray courses with more than 200 golfers. Featuring a challenging tournament and fine golfer gifts, this event has become notable as an excellent opportunity for sponsors to host top clients and potential business customers, and has a reputation for excellence in all areas.

Hometown Heroes (in Madison County and Fayette County)
The Hometown Heroes Awards honor local citizens in Fayette and Madison Counties who have demonstrated values held by the Red Cross and have, in some way, prevented, prepared for or responded to emergencies. Awards will be presented at a breakfast event to recognize and honor individuals who exemplify courage, kindness and unselfish character through their acts of heroism within their local community. Hometown Heroes can be nominated for an award in one of five categories: Public Safety Hero, Workplace Hero, Adult Hero, Youth Hero or Education Hero, through a public nomination process. Club
Red“Friends of the American Red Cross” is a dynamic group of young professionals committed to community service, education and increasing the awareness of the American Red Cross in Central Ohio. The purpose of the Friends of the American Red Cross is to support and advance the mission of the ARC through substantive voluntary engagement by young adults in service delivery, fundraising, external communication, and other special projects in the jurisdiction of the ARC of Greater Columbus.
Friends of the ARC hosts several events annually, some of which are planned specifically to raise funds to support our Chapter. For more information about this group of young professionals and their activities, click here.
