Co-Chair:
Erin Hartong, Nationwide
Erin
Hartong is Columbus native with a passion for making her
hometown a great place to live.
She is currently a Nationwide associate, working as a
specialist/field trainer in their Property and Casualty
marketing department. Prior
to joining the Nationwide team, she spent five years working
at WBNS 10TV in the Public Affairs Department.
Involved
with the American Red Cross since high school, Erin strongly
believes in the mission of the organization and encourages
other busy young professionals to donate their time and
talent.
Co-Chair:
Corinne McManus, ADAMH
Corinne
McManus currently serves as the Director of Public Affairs at
ADAMH - the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin
County, and has been part of ADAMH’s staff since 2002. She
earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University
in 2001, specializing in Marketing and Psychology.
McManus is
a member of several professional organizations, including the
2008 Leadership Columbus class and the Public Relations
Society of America (PRSA). As an active member in PRSA, she
has served as chair for both the PRSA PRism Awards and PR
Flash Newsletter committees and was a Referral Services
committee member from 2003-2005. She also volunteers weekly in
the Children's Clubhouse at Children's Hospital main campus.
Cathe
Moog, Experience Columbus
Cathe
is lucky to be able to promote Columbus as a visitor
destination, primarily via online marketing, advertising and
publications. She recently completed five years on the board
of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Public Relations Society of
America. A graduate of Indiana University but born and bred a
Buckeye, she lives in Worthington with her husband, Glenn, son
(Kyle, 3) and daughter (Natalie, 1).
Ruby
Classen
Ruby Classen is a California native, transplanted to Columbus
in 1998. Originally working with AT&T Prepaid Long
Distance, she has worked for DrugEmporium.com and Limited
Brands. She spends her much of her spare time volunteering and
performing with local community theaters, such as Little
Theater Off Broadway and Emerald City Players. She is
currently the President of the Board of Trustees for Little
Theater Off Broadway and the Co-Central Region Representative
for the Ohio Community Theater Association.
She resides in Columbus with her husband, 2 stepsons and a
feisty Pekinese named Peaches. What
brought Ruby to Friends was a personal experience with the
American Red Cross following a flood in Gahanna in 2004. When
she heard about the opportunity to get involved, it was an
instant answer...YES!
Scott Gerding
Scott Gerding wears a lot of hats but the one that fits him best is
humanitarian. At just 24
years old, he dedicates his days and nights to helping others
through his work with the American Red Cross of Greater
Columbus.
Not only a member of Friends of the American Red Cross, Scott
serves as the Aquatics Coordinator and Chapter Instructor
Trainer for ARC and teaches anywhere from 10 to 15 classes
each month. He’s been with the Red Cross for five years and
prior to that, worked with the Maumee Valley Girl Scouts where
he still volunteers twice a year.
During the few hours each week that he doesn’t appear to be working,
Scott loves spending time with his close friends and his
two-year-old Jindo dog Brutus. And when he gets the chance to travel, his favorite
spot is just about anywhere in Mexico.
Jeff Bing
Jeff moved to Columbus for his work with Ross Products Division of Abbott
Laboratories, where he serves as an analyst in the Contract
Marketing department.
An active Friends member since June 2006, Jeff
encourages anyone he knows to learn more about the
organization. He’s
sure they would find that Friends is flexible and
doesn’t demand an overwhelming commitment.
Aside from work and volunteering, his time is well spent at the Fisher
College of Business, where he recently started studying for an
MBA degree. When he’s not at work, he spends time with his
sister who is a junior at The Ohio State University and
several cousins and friends in the area.
Kate Hagemann
Kate
Hagemann is a
Lewis
Center
resident and Assistant Vice President and Home Lending Sales
Support Manager with The Huntington National Bank. In addition
to serving with Friends, Kate is on the board of the Unverferth House, which is an
organization that helps house families of OSU heart transplant
patients, and serves on the Otterbein MBA Advisory Council,
where she earned her MBA in 2003.
At Huntington, Kate's involved in the Adopt-a-Family,
United Way and Operation Feed.
She and her husband Josh are raising his son and their three
adopted dogs that were rescued.
Kate and Josh have a collection of goofy movies –
their all-time favorite is “Tommy Boy.”
She plays softball in the summer, soccer in the winter,
and maintains a dedicated girl’s night out!
And she loves to motivate and inspire people to do
more.
