WHAT:
The American Red
Cross of Greater Columbus Community Transportation Program
provides safe, reliable and timely transportation to seniors and
others in Franklin County for medical and other life-enhancing
appointments.
WHY:
This service allows these clients to receive essential medical
care and remain living independently in their own homes.
HOW:
This service is provided to those who qualify either through a third party
payer such as Franklin County Senior Options, Title III, those
who purchase their trips through the Fee for Service program or
through the local support of the Red Cross general fund and
the United Way. Medical transportation (dialysis, family
physician, optometrist, podiatrist, dentist, etc.) is
considered first priority. Non-medical requests (i.e. grocery
shopping, hair salon, etc.) are considered secondary and are
scheduled on a first call first served basis as well as per vehicle
availability.
Schedule an appointment:
To schedule transportation call (614) 253-6705 during the hours of 8:30 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday. We schedule appointments six to
eight weeks in advance; therefore we request you give a minimum
7 - 10 working days notice.
Hours of Service:
Transportation is
provided Monday through Thursday 5 am - 10 pm, Friday 5 am - 6 pm and
Saturdays from 6 am - 4 pm.
Beginning
October 7, 2007 we will begin Sunday hours from 7 am - 4 pm
